READ THE NEWSPAPER ARTICLE.
Look at the structure of the news: Headline, subheadings, date, author.
Check the development of the ideas: Is it lineal or there's a central idea?
Is it an article, a news report or an interview? How do you know?
Is the text persuasive? what does he want to persuade you of? How does he manage?
What do you think is the purpose of this text: informative, persuasive...?
It's a rather long piece of writing, so you are going to read different sections in groups and prepare a short presentation about it. Make sure you give the most important information.
